Ghost Hunters Live Halloween Special at Pennhurst State School and Hospital

For those that are interested the Ghost Hunters team will do a Live investigation of the Pennhurst State School and Hospital on October 31st at 7pm EST.

Special guests include Ghost Hunters International team members: Barry Fitzgerald, Kris Willams and Joe Chin. As well as Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files investigators: Ben Hansen, Jael De Pardo, Devin Marble.

The Ghost Adventures Crew went there in 2009 and the Pennhurst episode was the kickoff to their new season. The evidence came across as a little light to me, but they didn’t get to dedicate nearly the amount of time the place deserves. I also think they barely scratched the surface when it comes to covering the grounds.  You can read all about that episode and the location here: Pennhurst State School and Hospital

Let’s not forget that Josh Gates will be hosting this episode and he does a fantastic job. Hopefully this is actually a live investigation and not just a recording of a live event.

Ghost Adventures – Bonnie Springs Ranch – S04E17

Bonnie Spring Ranch was part of the Spanish trail and was used by settlers trying to make their way to California. The area is rugged and many people would have been stranded, attacked by bandits or would have run out of supplies on the trial. For this reason the team thinks there is a lot of activity out here.

To make peace with the spirits and show their appreciation they invite the Southern Paiute Indians to come out and perform a ceremony and give them a blessing for the investigation. They also head out to some cliffs where they turn right around and come back to the investigation site. Not sure what this was all about but it seemed pretty pointless to me.

The Opera House and the Wax Museum are the hot spots of the area, but the reported activity is pretty mild if you ask me. People feel cold spots, a wax figure keeps being moved around (curse those vandals) and an investigator claims she got scratched.

But the team gets ready for what I think turns out to be a pretty uneventful investigation. While looking around Aaron thinks he hears some sort of chant going on. In reality that sound could be coming from anywhere. Sound has a tendency to travel ya know.

There is also the claim on an EVP of "come here". It really doesn’t lead to much else and there is no other communication. They try to get more EVPs by having Joe try and stir up the place by asking why the spirit is angry. The most they get is Billy (the audio tech) feeling some static. I really can’t say that is evidence of anything.

Obviously the place has to be haunted and they couldn’t have come all this way for nothing so they claim to see an apparition coming out of a doorway. I can’t make that out, but they repeatedly claim it’s there.

For the final piece of evidence they hear footsteps wandering around.

I really don’t think they got much out of this one. In truth I think they knew things were a little slow so they started reaching and trying to make something out of nothing. Maybe something was going on, maybe that was an apparition, and maybe those were the boots of some long gone cowboy, but then again when you let your imagination run wild anything is possible.

Are the Ghost Hunters coming apart at the seams?

I don’t normally pay much attention to gossip especially when it involves the Ghost Hunters by two recent events really had me thinking.

First off, Britt Griffith is sent packing from the show after saying some less than complimentary terms while on the radio. Just to throw in my two cents, what Britt said was incredibly stupid and even though I don’t think he was spreading hate or violence the term is indeed offensive and he will have to suffer the consequences of his actions. It was a dumb thing to do and he should have known better. The caliber of investigator on the show is starting to shows signs of stress.

Secondly, we now have Kris Williams being shuffled off to Ghost Hunters International after serving several years with Jason and Grant on Ghost Hunters. There are two ways to look at this, first, GHI ratings are in the dumper and the show needs someone to come on and bail them out. Kris is well known and could easily bring over viewers. Second, she might be becoming too popular on the show and Jason and Grant don’t want to be overshadowed by her. She might be stealing too much of their thunder.

So will Kris save GHI or did she get her marching papers? Will GHI survive another year or is there where old investigators go to die?

Haunt Jaunts Interview with Kris Williams of Ghost Hunters

Courtney Mroch of Haunt Jaunts happened to get the opportunity to interview Kris Williams of the Ghost Hunters and came away with some pretty interesting commentary. Kris shares some of her thoughts about the Waverly Hills Sanatorium, how she deals with life on the road and what may lie beyond her life with the Ghost Hunters team. It gives a small glimpse to what it’s like to be part of the show and you may be surprised by some of Kris’ answers. It’s a very interesting read.

Thanks to Courtney for the full post and I have to say, I’m a little green with envy.
