Hi Beth, you bring up an interesting point. One thing I noticed when I was down in Savannah is that no one really spoke about slavery. Sure, they talked about Pirates and Generals and Civil Wars and ghosts and duels and yellow fever and damsels plummeting to their doom because of lost loves, but the one thing they glossed over was slaves. Obviously Savannah has a slave history. It's link to cotton and the railroad is undeniable - that was the backbone of Savannah and it's source of income. To excuse the pun, is this some sort of dark secret Savannah doesn't want to talk about? If you ignore it, it'll go away? I can only imagine that just as many hauntings are linked to the lives and treatment of the slaves as to any wife dying of yellow fever. Did I miss something or did I just get with the wrong guides and they thought pirates and ghosts were more glamorous?

By the way, any chance your book "Georgia Spirits and Specters" will be available in Kindle format?

Although the story of the girl's face in the window has been debunked, there are still some fascinating first-hand accounts of that house. Long before the house and the current story were featured on ghost tours, Al Cobb wrote about the house in his book "Danny's Bed." A girlfriend of mine saw lights on in the upstairs windows one night, and she distinctly saw someone standing in one of the windows. When she looked again, though, the house was dark, as usual. Local tour guide and historian James Caskey has done extensive research on that area and discovered that 432 (and Calhoun Square) are built on the site of a former slave burial ground. Does that automatically mean the house is haunted? No. But it does make one wonder!

I agree with a lot of the positive remarks and some of the negative ones. But no one is perfect, and at the age of 58 I still say and do stupid things and I want to say " I didn't do or say it". It eats me up inside and I just go over and over what I should have done or said. I agree he should've perhaps owned up to what he did wrong, but when you have an audience and aggressive personalities like Grant verbaly berating you on camera, well enough said. In my opinion I feel there was always something going on when Brian was on the show, it seems ghosts were attracted to him. I really like Jason and Grant but they needed to settle employee issues off camera. I also agree Steve was and is too eager to show up someone unnecessarily. It really came across on that stupid Ghost Hunters Academy, I still don't see how you allowed those young people to go thru all that meanes. Jason and Grant didn't in any way treat Steve and Tango or anyone else like those people were, accept Brian. I stopped watching after the first few shows it was always reminding me of humiliation I was put thru as kid, teen and adult. Glad you dropped it. I am still a fan of new shows and I love the flashlight conversations, I want to see more.

Have been there. Found nearby Plymouth spookier, especially the cemetery where John and Priscilla Alden and Miles Standish are buried. I went early on a gray, foggy morning surrounded by tombstones from the 1600s. It could have been a great set for a horror movie.

By the way was the witch Zak found Laurie Cabot?

Ghost Hunters did a 2 day stay there a few seasons ago (S2). They figured that the hauntings at the main hotel were mostly residual. They had some interesting experiences in the building Zak and Co. concentrated on and nothing in the 3rd building, the Concert Hall.

I used to drive by the Reformatory on my way to visit my grandparents (1970-2003) in Mansfield, once around 3am on a foggy night. It alwaya gave me the chills. I hear they now have tours and night time ghost hunts for tourist. I think I may go on one for fun sometime soon.

Brian screwed up big time and paid for it. Still when he came back I don't think he was given a fair chance I thinkBrian decided they wouldn't ever really accept that he had realized what he had done and changed so he finally just gave up. I have some of the same phobias as Steve but I don't endlessly talk about them and do my damnedest to work through them. Steve was a real jerk regarding Brian and still is. I still think that he got rid of the computer mouse in the one episode and the table in another so it could be (and was) blamed on Brian. Steve was tech supervisor so he should have caught the blame in both instances. I agree that he is also one to Tango. He needs to get over himself.
